Happy Halloween everyone. Friday evening the 3 younger kids and I went to the school carnival. They dressed up in their costumes and played some games, ate some pizza, and had faces painted. They had fun somewhat. Jessie is very slow and by the time we got to the games they were closing up and she did not get to very many games. Jake kept wondering off on his own and we had to keep searching for him and Kaelyn threw a fit over having to help find him. but the girls loved getting their hands painted with henna. and Jake loved all the games. they came home with a small baggie full of little prizes and candy.

Saturday was Halloween and we were crazy busy. Jake was suppose to have a soccer game but did not feel well when he got up. Sometime in the middle of the night he banged his head pretty good on his bed and when he woke up he had a headache. So they did not go to the game. I had work and then came home and picked up everyone (except Sean). the 3 younger kids all had Dr. apt. Kaelyn just had a recheck for her asthma (she was wheezing a little at her check up and needed to have it re-checked to make sure that the medicine was working). She also had to have couple of shots that some how she missed when she was younger. Her paediatrician did not give them to her and it was not caught until we switched Dr.'s so now we get to play catch up with her. She was I think 54" tall and weighed about 66 lbs.

Jake and Jessie had their Well child checks. Jake up grew 3 inches this past year but still can not get out of the 25th percentile. he was 44 or 45 ". can'[t remember and he was 47 lbs. And believe it or not he finally went up a size in pants. yeah he is now wearing size 6 slims. And of course he had to get his flu shot and that did not go over well. he also had to have blood drawn and well he put up quite a fit. It took 2 of us to hold him down after we had to catch him. As soon as he found out that he was getting a shot he took off out the door, down the hall way and hid in a corner. What fun. Jessie was 40 lbs and I thing was 42" She also had to get her polio booster and the flu shot and was OK at first. She kept saying that she wanted 2 but then as soon as it was her turn she put up a little fight but not too bad. Even Erik and I got our flu shots. And Sean already got his just before school started.

After the Dr. appointments we took Kaelyn and Jessie to gymnastics (Jessie had a make-up and Kaelyn was at High flyer's). We then went to the dollar store to get a few things we needed for Halloween and then got dinner and then home to get ready. We picked up their cousin Will and went trick or treating. The kids had fun. Jessie tuckered out after about 20 min and Kaelyn was whining a bit as well. but the boys where running and did not want to stop and so Kaelyn continued with them but Jessie stooped and went to Grandma and Grandpa's to rest and wait for the rest of us. Sean decided to spend his Saturday with friends. they took the bus down town and terrorized people at pioneer square and then back to our side of town and eventually home with couple of his friends to watch a movie. (he is getting too old)

Sunday was church-work. Kaelyn was presented with a new bible and was pretty excited that dad went and stayed most of the time. We then headed home for some lunch and then off to the movie at the joy cinema (school fundraiser, 10 movies, 1 per each week, for $9 adults accompanied children free). We watched Race to Witch Mountain which we did not think was not meant for young kids. Kaelyn did not like parts of it because it was too scary, and Jake thought it was a great movie because of the shooting and fighting the aliens but was scared at some parts. Jessie was bored and kept climbing from my lab to Erik's and then back to me. We then went to Erik's parents for birthday celebrations. Some weekend we will not have anything planned and stay home and rest or do nothing. Enjoy the pictures. There are some from the summer. I finally got the pictures off grandpa's camera. there are photos from our trip to eagle crest, kaelyn horse back riding, Erik and Jessie's trip to Kansas and Halloween.

Single parent weekend

Hello everyone

It has been another busy week. On Monday Jake had his first pack meeting in scouts, where received his first earned patch. kaelyn had gym and Sean had a soccer game. I did all the run around so that Erik could work on painting and getting a hair cut for his trip. On Tuesday, Kaelyn and I had a Girl Scout meeting and it was my Birthday. By the time the meeting was over and we made a quick dinner had cake and helped kids with homework it was way past bed time. Wednesday, Sean had a soccer game which Erik left work early to go see it. Jake had soccer practice, Kaelyn had gym and Jessie had gym. When we got home we ate dinner, helped kids do homework and then had to pack Jessie (Erik packed himself) for her trip to Kansas to see Grandma Jessie. Grandpa Wayne, Grandma Judy, Aunt Angie, Will, Erik and Jessie all left on Thursday Morning. Which left me with the other kids. Thursday was easy. I had carpool for Sean's soccer. so after daycare we picked him and the other boys up and drove them home. then had to go to the bank and grab dinner. I had to be to work at 7 so dropped Sean off at home and the rest of us headed to the church. then home and bed. On Friday, kaelyn had gym, Sean had to pack for his trip and needed me to run him all over to get stuff that he needed for fishing. then back to pick up Kaelyn. We then made it to the grocery store picked up a few things we needed for the weekend and then home and bed.

Saturday morning we dropped Sean off at the meeting place for his scouts and he was off for a weekend of fishing. He took his camera but forgot to take any pictures or take it with him to the lake. So as soon as the scouts photographer uploads the pictures to their web page I will post them here. The rest of us headed to the church because I had to work. After work Jake had a soccer game at noon. and then it was home for a quick bite to eat and get ready for the rest of the day. Jake went to his first pumpkin carving party with his scouts and then we were off to Kaelyn's meet. which was very long. the group ahead of us was running over so we did no get started until after 6 and it did not end until little after 10. It was a very long day. kaelyn did not have her best meet ever but she did OK. There were over 100 girls competing and 30 of them where in her age group. She fell on vault was a bit sloppy on bars. almost fell on beam, and missed her landing on front handspring on floor. but she still came in 14th all around with a 34.4, 14th on bars with a 8.65 and 7th on floor with a 9.05. she got a 8.3 on beam and 8.45 for on vault.

Sunday
We got up and headed to the church. Kaelyn's friend met us there to pick her up to go and play. they have not seen each other in a long time. and Jake and I headed into the church. After work we headed home. Sean beat us home. He said that it was OK. he did not catch anything big and it was freezing during the night. We all took a nap and then went and picked Kaelyn up and now we are working on chores. yeah.

Happy Birthday Jake

Well we made it to age 7. Jake's birthday was last Monday the 12Th We are so busy that we did not do a big party this year. Erik's family came over Monday night for some cake and ice cream. and we told Jake that next month when things settle down a bit that he could have some friends over for a small friend party. He was so cute though. I kept telling him that this year was a present free birthday. He got a little sad and said "but I need at least 1 toy". so OK we did get him some presents. He grew so much over the summer that he needed a whole new wardrobe so that he was not wearing his jeans above his ankles. actually Erik and I got him an early present because just could not send him to school looking like that. so 2 weeks before his birthday we went shopping for new pants. We also got him a case for his leapster and a new game. as well as a board game. The cutest part though was when he opened up Uncle Matt's present. I had Matt get him his Scout shirt and patches that he needed for his uniform. When Jake opened it he said "oh it's a shirt" I told him to look at it more closely. this is what he said with a high pitched squeal "it's my scout leader shirt. this deserves something" and then he ran over to Uncle Matt and gave him a great big hug. so sweet. anyway he had a good birthday.
Happy Birthday Jake

The rest of the week was a nightmare though. Monday evening Kaelyn started not feeling well and got worse through out the night. I took her to the Dr. Tuesday morning and found out that she had Swine flu. Yippee. It has been going around her gymnastics for the last few weeks. The gave her the antiviral medication and between that and Advil she felt better. She was pretty miserable for a few days but by Wednesday afternoon her fever finally stayed away and by Thursday the coughing was almost gone. I let her go to school on Friday. Well we did not think 1 getting sick was enough so of course Jessie got sick as well on Wednesday. She came home from school and fell asleep and when she got up she was running a fever. We just assumed that it was the same thing that kaelyn had as the symptoms were similar. however after her fever kept spiking to 103-104 Friday, I took her to the Dr. and she did not have the flu but she did have Strep throat. yeah. she is now feeling better and went back to school today. I am tired of sanitizing a few times a day. I will be glad when everyone is better. So far no one else has gotten sick. couple of daycare kids have colds but nothing major. hope that stays that way.

ok so the videos of her last meet did not turn out so well but here are a few pictures. also the pictures of Mr. Man's missing tooth.

Jake and his !st missing tooth

Kaelyn on the podium. She got 1st place on Floor, 2nd place on bars and vault, and 4th place on beam. she was 2nd all around in her age group and 5th all around for all level 5's. (about 40+ girls)

Kaelyn with all her metals after her 3rd meet. She was 1st all around on her team so she got to take home the team award for 2nd place. all n all it was a good meet

Monday, October 12, 2009

Hello everyone it has been a couple of weeks and we have been busy as usual. Kaelyn had her 2nd and 3rd meet. her 2nd meet she did well but the way they broke up the age groups and the amount of awards they passed out she did not place. she had an all around score of 35.7. they had a team there that looked like they should have been in the next level they were scoring really high and took home all the awards. Kaelyn got a 9.125 on beam and they started calling 6th place at 9.175 so she would have been 7th. and for bars she got 8.9 and they started calling 6th place at 8.95 so again she would have had 7th place. I think that she got 8.85 on vault and 8.8 on floor(would have been higher but coach had her start at a different corner of the mat then she is used to and she got mixed up about half way thru and had to stop turn around and go back the corner that she was suppose to be at.) If she would not have made that mistake she would have had at least a 9. oh well.

Her 3rd meet went really well. they broke out the age groups so that there was smaller groups. but they scored really low. we did not think she was going to place in any event but they were scoring low on everyone. She got an 8.5 on Vault and took 2nd place. she got an 8.925 on Bars and took 2nd place, on Beam she got 8.875 and took 4th place and on floor she got an 8.9 and took 1st place. Her all around score was 35.20 and she was 1st on her team. 2nd in her age group and 5th for all the level 5 girls (about 35-45 girls). Her team came in 2nd place and received a plaque that she got to bring home because she was 1st on her team. she came home with 5 metals and the plaque . I will post pictures later this week.

On another note Jake finally lost his 1st baby tooth. he was trying to hold out until his birthday but the tooth could not wait it fell out last Tuesday. Today Monday the 12th is his birthday he is 7 years old. what a big man he is getting to be. We are having a little party tonight for him and then will let him have friends over next month when we are not so crazy.

Sean and Jessie have been doing the same ole same ole. nothing new to tell. Later this month Sean will be going on a fishing camping trip with his Boy Scout troop. I will let you know how that all goes. That same weekend Erik and Jessie will be heading to Kansas to visit Grandma Jessie with his mom. I am sure that he will get lots of pictures to post when they get back. So that weekend will leave Kaelyn, Jakob, and Myself. Could be a quiet weekend if I did not have to run all over with them. Jake has a soccer game and kaelyn has a gym meet and they are at the same time. I am sure that I will work it all out.

My mom decided last week that they were going to drive out here to visit and have John look for work so they arrived on Saturday morning. The kids are enjoying having someone else around to give them lots of attention. Hopefully they find what they are looking for and all goes well. will post more videos and pictures when I have a few more minutes.
