December 6th 2010

OK so a lot happened in December. we have been so busy with stuff that it has been forever it feels like since I took time to write about what we have been doing. First of Dec. 6th Kaelyn had her state meet. WE got up early to head to bend. Erik, Kaelyn, and myself. the other kids were staying with grandma and grandpa and Sean was hanging out at home and was planning on watching the little kids later. Kaelyn did not compete until late afternoon. with homes of being done in time for us to make it back home. We did have plans to stay the night but
canceled them because Kaelyn would be done in plenty of time for us to be home and she had not completed her school work like she was suppose to so we were not going to treat her to a night at a hotel with friends and pool. I decided that I would drive first and then when I got tired of driving or started seeing snow Erik would take over. Everything was going fine until we started seeing snow. there was no place to pull over and the snow was starting to pack to the road. before we were even able to find a spot to switch drivers I slid on the packed snow zigzagging down the road toward a semi truck. I ended up letting go of everything not sure what to do and the van spun, flipped on it's side and slid into the snowbank on the opposite side. It was one of the most scariest things I have gone through. Kaelyn was screaming, and then crying. Erik was yelling at me (only because he was scared) I was so scared that someone was hurt. Luckily besides being scared everyone was ok. We were able to turn off the Van. Erik unbuckled and climbed in the back to check on Kaelyn. in the mean time passerby's stopped and helped get t
he driver side door open so that we could climb out. Erik got me unbuckled and I climbed out first. he then passed KK up and the people carried her down, and then Erik climbed out. Kaelyn was still shaking and crying it took a long time for her to calm down. it broke my heart that she had to go through that on the day that she was supposed to be compete ting in the big meet. Lucky for us one of the people that stopped was also heading to the same meet. they were from a different gym and were competing the next day. they drove Kaelyn and myself into Sisters where one of Kaelyn's wonderful team mates family picked us up and got us to the meet in plenty of time to do hair and relax a bit. Erik stayed with the van until a tow truck showed up. We had the Van towed to a shop in sisters and then Erik's dad came and picked him up and headed home. Kaelyn and I stayed with some team mates and drove rode home with them. She was amazing considering what we just went through. she made it through the accident through the long way as they were behind. through the meet and did not her best but not bad. I was so proud of her. We made it home safe and now have a new (used Van). We did not take any pix at the moment and we asked to have the insurance company send us the photos but they have yet to do it so not sure that we will get any pix of the van. But here are the videos of Kaelyn at
her meet.

score 8.475

Score 8.675

Score 8.85

Score 8.25
Ok so she ended up being 1st and I was not prepared. I missed the very beginning of the routine and did not have time to zoom in on her but you can kind of see her on the bars

All around 34.25. She was top all around score consistently through out the season. We just need to build her confidence a bit and hopefully next year the scores will be back up in the 9's. Good job Kaelyn we are so proud of you. Here are a few pix
we took as she had to do a speech for school and she chose to teach the class how to do a back walk over. enjoy.
