weight loss and funny story

Ok, so on June 19th I committed to work really hard to lose weight. I have done this in the past but never last long. This time I joined Weight Watcher with a friend. We went to our first meeting on June 21st. By that time I was already done 4-5 lbs from when I first weighed few days before starting. our second meeting I was down 6 more lbs. and the 3rd meeting another 3 lbs for a total of 14 lbs. I go tomorrow to weigh in again and I think that I will be down another 3 lbs. So when I started this few weeks ago I made it a big deal to the kids that we were going to eat healthier and that they needed to support me not by telling me what a great job I am doing but by not asking or eating the junk food around me. By going for walks with me and help me be more active. So the first week went by and Here is the funny story. Jakob went to a friends house and I walked him over. I did not have my glasses on and his friends little brother (4yr old) noticed. He said "you look different" His mom started to say it was because I did not have my glasses on but before she could finish Jake jumps in and yells out to everyone that could hear, "that is because she is loosing weight" Ok so I felt funny about it at the time. I am glad that he is thinking about it and helping me but it felt weird and uncomfortable talking about it to our neighbor. another week or so has past and I am still loosing. Jakob last night came over to get a hug before going to bed and he squeezed me and then said "mom I like you the way you are because you are so soft" ok, me "laughing". Jake "I know that you have to loose weight but I still like you the way you are because you are sooo soft" and then turns to Erik and says "Dad you and I are sticks" So do I want to be soft or a stick? He's so funny.

Eagle Crest

July 29th-Aug 1st

Thursday the 29th the kids left for Eagle Crest (Redmond, Or.) for a weekend get away. Sean and Kaelyn left with Grandpa Wayne Thursday afternoon with plans of stopping at Detroit Lake to fish before heading to the house. Jake and Jessie left couple of hours later with Grandma Judy and Aunt Angie and their cousin Will. Which left Erik and I and the dogs. We took advantage of Thursday evening with out kids to run a few errands and finish packing up the van with the kids bikes and other things that we needed. We left Friday morning. It is only about a 3 hour drive with out stops. We made it there around 1:30.

Friday afternoon we just hung out, road bikes, made dinner and relaxed. Saturday morning after everyone was up, eaten and ready to go, we headed for Smith Rock for a hike/fishing. and then the guys and most of the kids headed back to the house to get ready to go to the pool. While the lady's and Jessie took off to go shopping at the Nike outlet. then back to the house to make dinner. Kids played in the slip n slide and road bikes. Sunday morning was spent packing, cleaning up the house and then headed to the pool for one last dip, then lunch and we headed back home. Everyone wished we could stay for at least another day.
Here are a few pictures from the trip.

July

July we did not do much. Jake and Jessie started Summer academy the last week in June which lasted 5 weeks. Jessie has been loving it. Very glad to be busy doing something. She also started her new dance class Tap, Jazz, Tumble. It is now her new favorite and wants to continue it in the fall.
Jake has been going thru a tough time right now. At the end of the school year he started not feeling well and having panic attacks. He worries over everything. and starting Summer School was a bit of a challenge the first couple of days but then he settled down into a routine and was doing much better. He has had couple of Eye appointments and is now pacthing and doing vision therapy to help his bad eye see better. He has also been doing gymnastics. He started on the pre-team this summer and is having fun with that.

Kaelyn has been hanging out at home, hanging out with friends and doing gymnastics. She is almost ready to compete in the fall. She is working hard to get couple more skills down before meets start. Other then that I have working with her on math facts and reading at home, just to keep up on school work.

Sean has not done much. Hanging out with friends, soccer practice's and tournaments. He is now getting ready for tryouts for club and high school. Other then that he hangs out at home or with friends and is almost always on his phone or texting his Girl Friend. They are getting ready to celebrate their 6 month anniversary. He met her in Junior high. She is a year younger then him. Shortly after they started going out, she moved to Cape Cod, Massachusetts. It is cute they will both rent the same movie on, ON DEMAND and sit on either the web cam or phone and talk while watching the movie. creative way to have a date being hundreds of miles away.

Erik and I have been busy all month working on the yard. We are trying to take out and move plants, mulch, and put in a patio, and then rototill and put in grass seed. Besides that and work and taking care of the kids we are out of time for anything else. Some day maybe.

This year Kaelyn's team was in every show. here are some video's of her team dance and the finale dance. Also few videos and photos of Jake's routines. I messed up with the camera so no very good video or pictures. sorry.
Jessie quit gymnastics to start dance classes. She loves it and can't wait to go to each class. Her Dance recital was on June 24th. no camera's were aloud so I am waiting for the DVD that I had to buy to post her routine.
