Movie in the park

On Friday we went to the Movie in the Park at Pier Park. When we first got there we set up or picnic area and ate our dinner. there was a band playing, the water fountains, the rock climbing wall, free popcorn and the movie Space Jam. After we finished eating the band asked for some kids to come up on stage and help out. the only one we got to go up was Jake and cousin Will who as soon as the music started he ran back with his ears covered. here are a few pictures.

Well never fails Jessie fell and scrapped her knee and that was it for the water. However there was the climbing rock wall and out of all the kids Jessie is the only one that wanted to try it. She made it up almost half way and then cam down. So cute.Jessie getting harnessed up.

OK so it has been a bit since I posted anything. it has been a busy summer so far. the kids are staying busy playing with daycare kids during the day and last week Kaelyn went back to gymnastics. The gym is still not finished so they have been working out at another gym in Beaverton. it is a good 25 min drive without traffic. so not a quick trip. I have however worked it out with a teammate that lives close by and she has been taking her and I have been bringing home. The Friday before the 4th we were busy working in the yard and getting things ready for the 4th. We then went to Aunt Bonnie's and Uncle Mike's and to our surprise Chris, Kendra and the baby were there along with Josh and Rena and couple of their friends. We had a pizza dinner and visited for a bit and then left Sean there to do some work on Saturday morning. the rest of the kids and me left for home (hoping dad is in a better mood when we get home). on Saturday we planned a back yard camp out. and all though Erik was really cranky all weekend we made it fun for the kids. they can not wait to do it again. Next time though mommy get's an air mattress. Here are a few pictures from the weekend.


this is Jake watching some of the fireworks. every time he thought it was going to be a loud or big firework he would run in the house and watch it from the bathroom window.


and if he was not watching from the bathroom window this is how he watched. Maybe next year we will be able to go to a big fireworks show and just take earplugs for him.

Our backyard campfire. we got it going just enough to make smores. then put it out. I was afraid of burning down the house or trees near by.



Kaelyn and Jake being silly in the tent. We were telling stories and they decided to act out one of them. Jessie was already asleep and well Sean was a teenager with his headphones on and ingoing the rest of us. Erik was still grumpy so had not come out yet.

Time to sleep. We had fun camping out in the back yard. they all want to do it again. in fact our smaller tent is set up in the back yard right now because kaelyn and her friend tried to sleep in it the other night but got scared and ended up on the living room floor.
